After a 4 hour trainride from Osaka (for roughly 1000km, eat that Deutsche Bahn!) I made it to Kagoshima. The trainride was not as spectacular as hoped, since about half of it is tunnels. Especially the crossing between the islands.
But Kyushu has an awesome landscape. Unfortunately I didn't manage a single presentable picture, since the train was too fast and when I had the camera or mobile ready the next tunnel or noise reduction wall hit. I hope my mointain tour is not subterranean, too.
Apropos subterranean. I think in the past week I was as much below the surface as I was above. Tokyo and Osaka stations are HUGE. I mean absolutely mindblowingly HUGE. On several floors. And mostly the different rail companies have their own stations which are interconnected, too. You can probably spend a week in Tokyo underground without running the same way twice.
Since some days are gone by now I will keep the following posts short. Mainly pics and some short comments.
